Class Overview

This 18 week course is filled with projects and activities that will boost your critical thinking habits, improve your collaborative participation, grow your creativity and develop your communication skills through writing and talking about art. We will focus our exploration of the art world through a studio model, all work done in class. This is a survey class we will be covering the following but not limited to drawings, painting, printmaking, fine craft, clay, collage, 2D work, and 3D work.

Grading

 Projects are worth 60%

Quizzes, sketches, craftsmanship, art history, art literacy, and are portfolios worth 40%.

Supplies

3 -one  gallon sized zip lock bags

9 -  No 2 pencils - Not mechanical

1 - hand held pencil sharpener

3 - Sharpies Black

1- pocket folder paper or vinyl

1 - package of disinfectant wipes like Clorox- boys

1 - can of disinfectant spray like Lysol - girls

NO SKETCH BOOKS

Student expectations in the art room:

Respect yourself, your fellow classmates, teachers, as well as the art materials. Do your best on all projects and know somethings are going to be hard.
